Altech has been producing various types of stoves since 1983, built of a combination of cast iron and Brasilian soapstone. The traditional types like the Vision, Palladian and Fireview store the heat for 3 to 4 hours. |
The latest model in the range, the Eclips comes in a modular version and can be extended with a wood storage compartment and a bakeoven or a warm keeping section.
The Eclips is build following the counterflow / downdraft principle, known from Finovens. This meaning that the flue gases are guided through the stove in a 2 metre long channel, during which they transfer their heat to the soapstone.
The soapstone mass of the Eclips will continue to radiate heat to your room for 6 to 12 hours after the fire has died, depending on the model.
At the moment Altech is also developing a model of the vision with a top boiler, thus when this model will be available, you will be able to feed in to your central heating or run your hot tap water from it.
All Altech stoves are available in different colours of soapstone and cast iron.
